Australia Post-Secondary Educational Scholarships for People with Hearing Impairment

Deafness Forum provide educational scholarships to facilitate the participation of people who are Deaf or people who have a hearing impairment in post secondary education.

The Deafness Forum, each year deliver these scholarships to provide financial assistance to Deaf and hearing impaired people to enhance their participation in further education; increase the number of Deaf and hearing impaired students in further education; and, in particular to increase education opportunities for Deaf and hearing impaired students from the indigenous community, regional communities and non-English speaking backgrounds.
These national scholarships are initially for a period of one academic year. However, scholarship funds may be spent at anytime during the particular course of study for which the sponsorship is granted. The scholarship winners receive up to $2000 in financial assistance for that year. The scholarships these students receive will support them by contributing to the costs of tuition and materials such as textbooks, which are essential for any study endeavour.
The scholarships are available to students planning to undertake further education in 2006 and are expressly designed to support students who are deaf or hearing impaired by contributing to ongoing costs for their tuition.
